Back in March 2006 the Junta Andalucia decided to declare a B.I.C. (Bien de Interes Cultural or in English Site of Cultural Interest) in the Lecrin Valley.  This will cover the area of El Valle, which incorporates Melegis, Restebal and Saleres, and will also include some of the land between Saleres & Albunelas and  Melegis & Murchas.  Andalucia  has only 10 of these B.I.C’s, and this award for the Vally means that grants can be applied for to improve the area.
