Walk the Boabdil route to extensively explore the Lecrin Valley – the route is 113.11 km which can be undertaken in stages of 7 to 12 km.  The route joins up the 18 villages which make up the Lecrin Valley – relax on your travels at a local bar with a drink and tapas and soak up the beauty of this historic area.

BIRD WATCHING

There is an abundance of wildlife in the Lecrin Valley, Las Alpujarras and Sierra Nevada including the observation of many different species of birds from Eagles and Vultures to Wheatears, Redstarks, European Goldfinch, Serin, Dartford Warbler, Red-legged Partridge, Common Quail and Swifts with their breath taking aerobatic displays.  Discover more about birdwatching in the Granada region.

CYCLING/MOUNTAIN BIKING

Whether you’re into road cycling or a hard core Mountain Biker there’s plenty to tackle in the surrounding areas. Pinos del Valle has it’s own great circular MTB trail – Sendero del Jabali (The Wildboar Trail) which starts and ends at the Lavadera by the Sportsground at the top of the village.  This route can also be extended by continuing on and connecting up with the Rodeo de las Cabras which will bring you back to the village – Details for both routes can be found on Wikiloc .

Mountainbike Worldwide Tours have guided tours of the Sierra Nevada available to book for Spring & Autumn seasons.  Please note that the skill level for these tours is Advanced.  Javier Morcillo will be your local guide and he is also familiar with the circular routes from Pinos del Valle – Sendero del Jabali & Rodeo de las Cabras if you’d like to ask him about them..

For self guided riding check out the many routes uploaded to Wikiloc – find a route, download it and off you go!!  If you’re staying with us here at Casa Molino try out the Sendero del Jabali for some exciting single track and technical sections.  As it passes through wooded areas on the high part of the route it’s perfect to undertake during even the summer months as you are shaded from the fierce summer sun and there is often a cooling breeze.

GOLF

Located in Otura, just 20 minutes drive from Pinos is Santa Clara Golf, a spectacular 18 hole golf course, par 73. 

If you fancy a round down by the sea then Los Moriscos in Motril is worth a visit.

SKIING & SNOWBOARDING

WATER SPORTS

The waters of the Costa Tropical are ideal for water sports enthusiasts offering superb marine life for snorkelers and scuba divers. Other popular water sports include sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking. There are many companies in Salobreña, Almuñécar and La Herradura that rent water sports equipment and small craft like canoes and kayaks. All are within a 30 – 45 minute drive from the Lecrin Valley.

HORSERIDING
